So, who is behind the curtain?
« on: October 23, 2013, 05:45:10 PM »
If I wanted to direct an email to the owner/proprietor of Railwire, who would that be? Nothing dire, I just wanted to ask some questions about all of the various advertising that pops up around here.

Thanks,
-Mark

Doubt Tom can really help you much on the ads though.  Google picks what you see, not Tom.  Only thing Tom controls is how many are around on the page.

+1 Google picks what you see based on words on the page and your own browser's history.

No, I don't care about the specifics of what pops up in the ads around here (bare titties, whatever). Anyway, thanks. Sounds like Tom Mann is the guy I want to talk to.

Cheers,
-Mark

What's in your browsing history that's prompting Google to pick bare chested lady ads for you? Must have visited some Firebird oriented sites?

Not much I can do about the ads, but I'll be happy to forward your email on to my employer.

No complaints from me about the advertising here - I just had some questions about web advertising in general.

PM sent to Tom.

Thanks,
-Mark

Adds ??? We have adds here..Don't think I've seen any adds , at least lately. I've been running Chrome for a few years, and have their pop up blocker added. You can also go into you're browser (on Chrome anyway) advanced settings and check the box that says "do not send a tracking request" . That will keep targeted adds from showing up as pop ups. Maybe I should turn it off if their showing boobies..... :o ....Mike

Guys, last warning:  if you admit you block the ads here, I'll ban you. :RUEffinKiddingMe:  I don't run ads because I want to see them, I run them to generate a little bit of revenue to help keep up my motivation to maintain the forum. :tommann:
