Question About Model Power Bay Window Caboose

Has anyone removed the oversized ladders and railings from the ends of Model Power bay window cabooses and replaced them with Micro-Trains caboose end railings/ladders? I think the MTL parts are delrin, so how did you attach them?

I have not, however, Gold Medal Models makes an etched brass set for this car, it includes a roof walk, too.

There are other versions of that "miracle" adhesive (which I didn't think was all that spectacular) available out there. Even Microscale sells their version of similar specialty AC glue with accelerator.  http://www.microscale.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=MB-SP2&Category_Code=FINPROD&Product_Count=14 I honestly think that if cyanopoxy was as miraculous as they claimed, they would still be around (if you know what I mean).  Or one of those large adhesives companies would have bought them out.

I used a set of the MT railings on a freelanced narrow gauge caboose once, but in that case, I nailed them on.  Literally:  They're pinned on with nut-bolt-washer castings to simulate the ends of the truss rods.   For a more modern car one might be able to do the same thing with grab irons, depending on the prototype.

I must also recomend the GMM etching for the MP caboose. Creates an outstanding model.

CoolChem was re-introduced a few years ago.  The website is still up.  I admit I have not tried it since the original release and outside of the emails I occasionally get from them, I have no idea if they are still selling it.

I have. I just secured them with Zap A Gap. I wish I still had that caboose.

I just used epoxy but quit using them once GMM came out with their ladders (you could rebend the top of the ladders to look like SP's square tops).
