Okay Ed - This one's for you.  With steel reinforcing.

Oh yeah, that's the stuff right there.

I love it Doug!

Personally, I spent this weekend watching monkeys riding dogs herding rams. It was awesome.

SJNSLWLT#1 (1st annual South Jersey N Scale Lone Wolf Layout Tour)

Four of us from South Jersey and an alien visitor from the central Jersey shore got together to tour each of our under construction (with a long ways to go) model railroads. Although none of us have layouts ready for public consumption, we did enjoy sharing our construction progress, dreams, and aspirations.

First stop: Ntrainz1. Bob has switched his 3'x18' railroad (DKS track plan) over to code 55 and is patiently awaiting track! He models the Conrail Shared Access in southern New Jersey (without the A Frame Paulsboro bridge that dumps hazmat tank cars into Mantua Creek).

Where did he get that yellow school bus?

TimHar47 was the next stop. Tim is modeling the PRR Middle Division with a LV interchange. (Tim is the group's leading kit basher.)

Next on to John's house for a lesson in how to build a layout without track. While waiting for a slow boat from China (code 80 flextrack) John is laying out the scenery in his 12'x28' layout room (drool, drool!). John is modeling NS in Virginia and Kentucky.

Finally back to my place (PRSL, early 1950s) where gpumph is attempting to determine how to lay out the city of Camden without interfering with the Pavonia Yard.

Wow, just...awesome!
Let me ask, I'm guessing that looks like a brass cabin car. It looks longer than the Bowser cabin cars. Are the Bowser cars that far off the mark?

Alternate version:

Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

The cabin is a brass Key N5c.  The Bowser and the Key are pretty close dimensionally.

Heck, as my layout sits, it's the most portable!
It's still only the roll of paper that has the full size track plan printed on it.
(still have yet to make room for the door...  :x )

Fixed my own info (I'm on the SPF boat as well, but I tend to stick down towards the bilge so that nobody sees my UK stuff  ;) )

MandEalco:

FYI I had N decals for the WNYP 630 made by Dans Resin Casting (www.dansresincasting.com).   While I didn't go to the extents you are on the body the 630 conversion on the stock body looks pretty good to me.  They are done on an ALPS.

I used Badger DMIR red for the body, I don't think it's really red enough for the 630.   The stripes, etc. came from the Arkansas & Missouri Microscale set just like the 630 did.

Hi Randy
Thanks for the info on the decals, I think you have already passed this on a while ago.  The red does look different, depending on the lighting, and does appear quite light at times.  I have seen photos of your C-630, and it looks pretty nice.

I had hoped to catch up with you while we were in NY last year, but it was a flying visit.  Maybe next year if we get back, we'll have more time to see people.
Cheers
Steve
