I received one of those DVDs in the mail. It definitely seemed repackaged to me, and the one layout that I saw (I didn't watch the portion on the other layout displayed) seemed to be filmed in the 1990s. As far as model railroading has advanced in the past twenty years, it really made the DVD feel non-relevant to me. I can appreciate why someone would want video on those great layouts of the past that no longer exist (a fallen flag, perhaps, like the V&O, AM, or G&D) for nostalgia purposes, but I have no interest in buying DVDs with out-of-date footage on random layouts that will offer little informational value.
By the way, I never send the free DVD back, and I don't sign up for the DVD subscription. You would think they would have figured that out by now. Their loss.
