As it's been some time since the last, here's an update of the work that's been done so far this year.
Here's what the main station area looked like, before:
Eventually a second platform got added, but it basically spent a few years being used as an area to park trains:
First up was working out the arrangement for placing the poles and arched supports:
An 89' boxcar was used to help establish maximum clearances:
The columns on the platforms are old Wilton wedding-cake columns:
Then, the framing to support the street-level above the tracks was built up out of 1"x2" pine:
After that came the installation of the HO code 100 rail for overhead within the station:
I have also added 1/2"x3/4" strips to serve as supports for the cold-cathode fluorescent platform lighting:
Then I started on building up the span poles for the yard throat, as well as installing some of the actual catenary:
Now let's see how much more wire I can get strung in the next month, before we stop work for the holidays.
