MTL Heavyweight passenger car steps

Are the Micro Trains heavyweight passenger car steps available as separate parts?  I have several Lima / Model Power coaches that I am looking to upgrade and would like to use these steps instead of the GMM ones if they are available?

Has any tried this and are there any tips / tricks to this?

There was a set of heavyweight car details in etched brass from Gold Medal Models, don't know if it still is, that included brass steps. There are easy to fold and solder, and look great, as they are thinner and closer to scale than plastic.

But narrow, and not as detailed as plastic.  Unfortunantly the MTL steps are part of a larger underframe piece, but people have scored extra underframes from MTL and mounted the steps on Rivarossi cars.  They look good.

True...but the GMM fret is still quite nice, well shaped, and fit with only minor mods...the MT step, like stated above require some surgery...
Here's the GMM set and an example....









The GMM set also includes some very nice steps and observation car end railings...

The GMM set does provide for a fine detail part and even for those who have the new MicroTrains cars it is a part that some might want to consider since it renders a very nice detail of the 3-step vestibule steps that were found on some of the heavyweights represented by the GMM steps.  A number of sleepers were built with the 3-step configuration as standard with some later being rebuilt to 4-step while others remained unchanged throughout their service life so it is an added bit of accuracy if a person wanted to represent this.
