David Gray: Your trees look great!!  My "puff ball" forest will not stand up to close scrutiny but your layout looks great in close-up photos.  Looking forward to watching your progress!!

Ron,

Who makes those lights? I am looking for something similar for my show display.

Our N-Trak club has adopted these as our new "standard" display light. Here's a link to Ikea's page: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10214208/. The great thing about these lights is, aside from being remarkably bright for LEDs, they are "warm" in color, having the same color temperature as the halogen clamp lights we were using before that we can no longer get.

Biggest challenge to using these? They don't sell 'em online, you have to visit a store. Ikeas are hard to find here in Flyover, USA.  :(

Yea, but there are plenty of asshats living near Ikea that could help ship you a fix when needed. I live within weekend scouting distance of two (though I'm hoping to change that).

I practically live there, I find that their Gorm shelving makes a great base for a small layouts that needs to be moved easily.

The pictures really don't show all the little details that are seen with the naked eye.

I wonder if that's because it "looks right."  I bet if the little details weren't there we'd notice it.  We may not "see" the them, but we see the big picture made up of all the small parts.

I also built two of the new Briggs Models Minibox kits, which will become BCR Maintenance of Way tool cars:

Nice work Tim, that's some impressive looking detailing!

Tim,

Do those ladders come with the kit? They look pretty schweet. I've been hoping someone would release a fine etching (like BLMA's) in a length (like Gold Medal Models); one that could be used for short and long car ladders, as well as industrial settings, etc. It would be a nice aftermarket item.

To answer your question and Ed's, everything you see in the photograph came with the kit except for the trucks and couplers.  The kit includes a comprehensive fret of etched details, as do most of Jeff's kits.
