And yes, MS Paint is a perfectly acceptable layout planning tool...

LOL! Yep it is. BUT, instead of using the pencil to draw curves, use the "Curve" icon and in four clicks you will have a nice smooth curve.
1) First Endpoint
2) Second endpoint
3) first vector point (from 1st endpoint)
4) second vector point (from second endpoint)
I have drawn in Paint, and printed to 1:1, and laid it out nicely. tunouts are an issue though...
Suggest getting the free AnyRail. It lets you use up to 50 pieces of track before haveing to purchase the software and has all of the atlas snap and code 55 pieces in it library too.
By the way I like the diamonds through the Ntrak mains, it should turn out to be a really nice focal point.
