Nice clouds

I was on wikipedia and came accross this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Colonial_buildings_in_old_Shanghai.jpg

The backdrop is curved to meet the ceiling, and the effect is really, really good. Although the diorama is based on 1940's Shanghai, the weather looks like November in New England.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

I agree that it is a nice look. It is nice how the perspective is maintained through this approach. They do have a small issue with a building casting a shadow on the clouds, but overall a great job. Thanks for sharing it.

Best wishes, Dave

Reminds me of this New Mexico sky, shot from my front door, which could be stretched to fit the Shanghai scene:

 :)  Thanks for sharing.
I am certainly not a meteorologist, but I do know in central Illinois based on long time residency that the sky various considerably from season to season.  With that in mind, I have tried to simulate an autumn sky on my backdrop to complement the autumn foliage.

It helps if you are living in the area you model and can take photos during the season you model and then use them as a guide.  I have also seen actual photos used on small n-scale dioramas.

The color of "sky" is caused by the amount of water vapor, dust, and other particles in the atmosphere - think prism .. and the amount of scattering of the light ..  it stands to reason then that certain seasons bring more moisture or less moisture ..
