They're Z Scale. They were originally sold with MTL trucks/couplers. They are entirely compatible with any other Z Scale rolling stock, MTL or otherwise.

Sorry, but this strongly resembles a bovine byproduct.

Shrink must mean consistant dimensions on molded parts... For pad printing ease.  But hardly seems like a reason to do new tooling.

Well, if that's a problem for MTL, it sure isn't for Full Throttle...
