Guys, I think I've figured out the issue with some of the folks but I need confirmation from Tomm, John, and Louis Judice. The domain I've always used is therailwire.net, however, in PMs with Pud, he's been using railwire.net, which is registered to Louis. I'm guessing this domain did not transfer over to Tomm or was unknown or was a mirror, etc. If that's the case, some of the issues being seen may be because of this secondary domain? Thanks,

Phil

railwire.net has never been our domain or a mirror. We have always used "therailwire.net" or "www.therailwire.net" and that domain was transfered to Tom's ownership.

I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Well; I'm back in. Don't know why the computer started looking for "railwire.net", it's never been that way. I also went to opendns.com and tried getting in that way and it, plus all the stuff Philip (Conrail 98) did got me back ( too bad, eh ? ;D)

Seriously; I have to thank, and that's way to weak a word, Philip. he was like the guy that stays with you while you're trapped in a car wreck and never leaves your side. He e-mailed me 30 plus times all morning and afternoon, talked me off the "ledge" so to speak (he didn't agree that throwing the router through the window was a technically sound step)  I owe him a seious debt and I hope some day, some how to thank him....for now.......

THANK YOU PHILIP; YOU'RE A TRUE FRIEND !

Isn't Railwire a great place..................
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Lou - I'm curious why you would register railwire.net?

Actually, I think that just added to the confusion and it wasn't the real problem as Mike's computer kept putting a space between the and railwire.net so it "looked" like that was what he was using when in reality it wasn't and, as Ian said, it really had nothing to do with this forum. I've got a temporary setup for Mike right now. For those who may be curious, the way his router is setup is somewhat funky and at the risk of making so he can't get to anything, I had him put in a hosts entry for now. I actually had another friend of mine helping and it was Friday at work and I was done all my stuff by 10, so no biggie. That friend and I are comparing our home router setups to make sure that the next step to get something permanent is ok,

It's because they go to therailwire.net and that hosts entry is www.therailwire.net. Also, just so you know, that'll only work on that laptop unless you do that on the others,
