Removing Trainman boxcar roof walk?

I don't prefer any putty, I like to make parts fit correctly  ;D

But if I do need it I just use ACC and file it down. I don't own putty, but back in my 1:25 car days I used the green stuff to do body work. A month later you can still make a dent in it with your fingernail. After that I only used 2 part puttys, the one I tried was milliput I think. It worked much better.

I have to admit, since I've started using a milling machine to make precise cuts it is much easier.

I added an ACI label too, to match the photo.  I know, the ladders are still full height, but whatever.

The galvanized metal trick didn't pan out...

Very nice Dave.  I probably won't get to mine for a couple of years.  So many other cars are on the work benck ahead of it!  The roof looks great.  May I ask what you painted it with?  Also, have you considered adding MTL stirrups and brake wheel?  That car would look fantastic with both.  Thanks.

Thanks!  I may upgrade the car later, but for now it'll do considering the low price.  Like you I have a number of other projects in the works.

I had colored the roof silver and was hoping to have some of it show through the roof paint (it kind of does, but not to the extent I'd like).  I then airbrushed it with a mix of PolyScale bpxcar red and PRR maroon.  It was looking like a shiny pink until I added a second coat.
