Yard ladder

Question came to mind. I have about 4-5 ft lengthwise and about 12" width to install my small three or four track yard which will represent the junction between NLR and Jacksonville. I'm taking some design liberties by installing a three stall roundhouse and (for now; to turn the 2-8-0 when it runs) the basic Atlas turntable.

Would it be possible, or I guess the better question is, would it work ok if I start the first turnout using an N scale #7 turnout, then the rest of the turnouts as #5's?

Also, how many tracks should lead to the front of the turntable? One in and one out? I'll have another entrance at 90 degrees to enter/exit the yard area.

I've always seen at least two tracks on a decent sized turntable facility.  A small rusty branch line might have one, and maybe an old one that is rusting away in the weeds.  The advantage to having two is it gives you a run-around as well as a turning point.  As a general rule of thumb, I use #7's wherever possible, then drop to #5 when there's no choice.
