These are based on a Northern Pacific prototype and there is a great article on the GHQ forum detailing the history of the car as well as a how-to article on how to assemble the kit.   Check it out!

Very cool.  Too early for me, but I bet these do well.

I would LOVE to see someone come out with a similar kit for the modern BN/BNSF "Coil CARe" steel coil cars.  (the skeleton sill construction just reminded me of those cars, and the price is right)  The key is the decals are included....slam dunk.   Assemble, paint one color, and decal.

I just got the sets I ordered last week.  I'm just waiting for Chuck to send me my Z Scale couplers so I can put them all together assembly line style.  They are fantastically molded.

Also watch for the new W-5 Mikado conversions.

Wow James, you still believe in Santa Claus, too?  ;)   I wrote that project off long, long ago.  Even before BLMA jumped in with their spines. (yes, different, but...)  I have to admit I am curious about GHQ's apparent "resurgence" in the model railroading market.  Although, they have some existing tooling they don't seem willing to touch, plus the spines, etc.  So who knows, but the log cars look pretty nifty.
