..... I've looked into this too... It should be a relatively simple addition to the JMRI Panel Pro software.  For those who are more tech savy than I.  The JMRI software already allows creation of a diagram of your layout.  And instead of having occupancy of the diagram tracks driven by block occupancy and switch indication, it would be driven by Track Warrants issued...

just remote desktop into the dispatcher's computer at the layout to control the railroad.  with free long distance, simply using a cell phone to arrange meets would give the layout a very "real" feel.

How long will it be before they show us how to add DCC to a tree?

I used JMRI with CATS on my N scale Eastern Region and it was fantastic. It was extremely versatile and worked very well with Digitrax components.

Last I knew, JMRI didn't handle Track Warrant Control.  I thought it was designed for CTC and ABS systems.

I haven't looked at a JMRI update in a while.. Have they worked TWC into Panel Pro?

I always thought Panel Pro is of little use unless your doing CTC.

Thanks.. ~Ian

You are probably right .. I am planning on using CTC .. so it fits my needs nicely ..

You can easily use TWC with CTC. Issue a form D, filling out Line 2 and then the dispatcher sets the board, click, click, click, lock, transmit code.

Straight TWC is easily done with Form D's that you can find online. I believe I have a PDF form one on the server PC somewhere.
