That's the method I like.

I got styrene strips about 1/8" wide and used latex based contact cement to "glue" it down on top of my "subroadbed". Then I "filled in" with Duram's Water Putty and sanded smooth when it was dry.

I put my roadbed on top of this, and then the track.

IMO, a very "robust" method. Mine's about 8 years old and no problems. For the roadbed and subroadbed I used "VinylBed"by Hobby Innovations.

Any N-scale equiptment made will handle a 15" radius, but Big-Boys and such don't look so great on them. We all have to compromise unless you can lease the AstroDome and build a layout in there! Go with the 15's and 17's and do a little judicous "controlling the angle of viewing". "Build it, and they will have fun."

i figured i use styrene shims to get superevelation.  that will look sweet!

I used styrene shims (max 0.020") for the curves on the Juniata Division.  It worked well!

I should have done super elevation on my curves  ...I had planned on it but then decided against it for some unknown reason  :

I use a 36" radius for mine, but 24" still looks good easments help also on smaller radii.
