Rail Brown substitute?

Just got back from the LHS, which doesn't carry any railroad colors. WTH?   I looked for a 'rail brown' and/or 'rust' equivalent.. with no luck.  Apparently fluorescent and glitter is more popular..

In any event....

Has anyone had luck matching these from a hardware store spray bomb, so I know what to look for when I stop on the way home? ;)

Not an exact match, but Rustoleum makes their #7769 Rusty Metal Primer and their #2089 Dark Gray Primer.  Also check out their "Camouflage" specialty colors for #1918 Earth Brown.

While on the subject of rail colors:  Does anyone know a paint color that is reasonably close to the Micro Engineering weathered rail?  I've tried several RR colors but cannot seem to get very close.

Testor's Modelmaster Acryl #4605 Burnt umber matches the weathered code 55 rail.

A good match that I use is a combination of Valspar 5007-2B lead cast (Found at Lowes) or you could substitute this with
Home Accents "London Grey". Next I use Home Accents "Nutmeg" and finally Rustoleum "Dark Taupe". Basically what I do is
do a quick pass of the gray over the entire track then a quick pass of the Dark Taupe and the Nutmeg to hit the rails.
Letting the mist of the browns hit the ties also (Makes a good Greyish brown look to the ties). Then If I want a new tie look
I brush paint some Black on the ties.
