Some more photos from Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, or was it still Metropolitan Transit Authority then? Taken in Boston, anyway.

On April 21, 1956, PCC 3308 poses on the elevated platform at North Station/Boston Garden. At the time, this was the most modern streetcar in the USA. Note the sealed windows and air conditioning.

Prewar PCC 3003 at the Riverside storage yard in August 1961. Note this one had windows that open and no air conditioning.

PCC 3051 emerges from the oldest subway in the USA, while PCC 3034 heads toward "Park Street Under" via the same subway.

Next week, still more Boston photos.

Some goodies from last weekend's adventure down the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Eastern Shore Railroad has become the Bay Coast Railway, but they still have  some of the older Geeps running around in their earlier paint.

Cape Charles is also home to two of these MRS-1's, Military Road Switchers, as was discussed earlier (Thanks for the info, everyone!)

Here's the new Bay Coast paint scheme.  Seems to be related to a local real estate company, which uses the same name and colors.

They apparently run some excursions and dinner trains.

The coolest thing they've got, though, are these two little relics.  The second one was fired up and there was wait staff aboard, apparently preparing to depart for an evening dinner special.

There's also a little town museum there that has a couple of white elephants out in the yard.  Neither has anything to do with Eastern Shore railroading, but I guess if you've got a museum in a railroad town, you better have a caboose!

I've got some more shots of the car float ramp and more rolling stock at my Picasa album.

Couple month back while cruising the Wash, DC beltway I cam across this SRS truck and took a few quick shots:

Guess they use these like their railcars for checking track.  Is that a GPS/satellite  system on the roof?

Lee, those two "doodlebugs" are the latest from Steven Torrico's Edwards Rail Car Co. and were rebuilt in Montgomery, AL. For more information on those cars, see:
