I've given up on all retailers except FRTS. Chuck has been my exclusive train pusher for well over 3 years now.

For Z scale, I second that for sure. Anthony is a four-star retailer.

I placed an order recently with 4nscale. All eight items arrived within one week!

No harm, no foul !

This has been my normal experience with this vender. We are fortunate to have a choice of good venders in N scale.........

Don't give up on them!  I think it is just a case of once one thing went wrong the whole process broke down.  In my professional experience this is what always seems to happen.  No matter how hard you try that customer is the one where you have all your issues that add up to a whole big mess.  Bad Karma on that one order.  I always strive for perfection but that one time always seems to be ugly!  In the end you just hope to meet your service or product promise you made!  Maybe to the old 80-20 rule!  This is why I spread my business over 3-4 vendors.  All of your eggs in one basket never seems like a good idea to me!

This, plust the fact that no one seems to have everything you need (not a fault, just a matter of circumstance and practicality). Some vendors may come close, but it seems one always winds up having to go elsewhere for those last two items...

The reason my initial order went to 4 N Scale was that they had everything listed that I needed to start out.

The miscommunication at the beginning I can accept. The fact that he took a week to supposedly get my order ready I can not.The fact that they waited a week to tell me they did not have my CC numbers I can not especially after re repeated the numbers when my wife read them off to him.

Then to finish it off they waited 3 more days to ship the order after telling me they had it ready to go.

If someone else has had nothing but good luck dealing with 4 N Scale I think that is terrific, but I didn't and I will not deal with them again.

Most of these internet model train stores take your order, then they
order the merchandise, then they ship it.

This was my only experience with Tex'N Rails. I ordered by phone and gave them three months to come through. My order with them for 3 Atlas GP38-2s never materialized. I ended up paying a little more and getting them through Ebay.

Well,now I am a Zedhed. ;D

Stuff finally got here at 6pm today.Would have had it yesterday except for an uncoperaive brother in law that just up and decided to die last Friday and get buried yesterday.

UPS tried to deliver the stuff yesterday but no one was home to recieve it and we must have been the last stop today.

Anyhoo now comes the fun part of deciding what I want for a layout. ;D

yes, same here, the last parcel from Chuck @ FRTS was sent on the 24th of June (already the 25th at my place) and did arrive on the 28th of June (still the 27th at Chucks place) so that are three (3 !) days from SFO to New Zealand, passed the custom and was delivered 270km south of the airport to a rural address - that was really fast... !   ;D ;D
