Will anyone here admit to buying the MT wreck train?

Reason I ask is I'm curious as to how MT added MT couplers to the Derrick (Crane) - 1128 coupler on the Bachmann six wheel truck or what?

(I bought the crane previously)

For a second there I thought the subject line read, "MTL/Bachmann Train Wreck." Kind a Freudian slip of the eye, I suppose.

Oh, not me, didn't get one.

Actually, I picked up a Bachmann Crane at MB Klein for about $12 I think - and it has knuckle couplers and RP25 wheelsets. It also comes with that hideous tender car as well.

It's not that bad for $12!

yeah, bachmann has been using small (normal) flanges since the 1980s.

I got mine for about the same price. But I still wanna know what MT did to them. Mine came with Rapidos, which are not much worse than the Bachmann Knuckler (I'd have to replace either). The couplers are truck mounted on the Derrick. I also wonder if they swapped out the wheelsets.

Maybe they stuck their Buckeye under it ...

Here's what I did with mine...

I put on MT Buckeye's with the Bachmann wheels.

It's close but not quite proto...  The tender car is in the scrap box, I purloined the wheels for another project.  I really like Bachmann's new wheels, by the way...
