Scored one on the 'Bay!!

Just picked up a Key PRR H8 Consolidation on eBay for a little over 4 c-notes. Been looking for an H8-9-10 from Key for years now but there always seem to be folks willing to spend really big bux for them.

Let y'all know how it runs and pulls when it shows up here.

Congrats!

I wish I had the budget for brass.  That and the money to pay someone smarter than me to convert them to DCC...

PRR modelers can never have enough H-class 2-8-0s!

If it's in good condition, it will run quite well. These originally came with a spare traction wheel/tire, and if the previous owner hasn't installed it it, you may want to do so. As I recall (I have an H9s) mine pulled about 10-15 cars without the traction driver.

Now then, what can I get me for my early 67th birthday? I still have 11 months to think about it!

I've got an H-10 boxed up which I haven't run for years.  It did come with the traction tire.  Hopefully I'll get someone to convert it to DCC someday.  Everytime an I-1 comes up on Ebay I have dreams of winning one.  They usually go for a grand which is way beyond my budget.  Always wanted one.
