Ha,ha,ha...Your efforts are appreciated, Richie.

The only thing HO Scale announced was the "Masterpiece Automotive Replicas" which I think are manufactured by someone other than Atlas anyway, so it's really a non-issue. It does kind of make the month a bit less interesting without any Atlas announcements though.

No N Scale announcements for Atlas this month. Has something to do with the Chinese New Year and how that affects releases dates.

But hopefully, February will be great.

Chuck,

Are you positive there will be no announcements for N-scale this month and that they haven' t just been delayed?

I know Cory has mentioned Chinese New Year in the past for the reason that some of the past January/February announcements were "light" in terms of quantity, no to have nothing in a month would be a shock - I don't remember it happening in the last 5 years.

Of course they did just go to a quarterly release (with monthly announcements), so maybe that is having some effect...

No announcement in January except a 10% price increase in February... likely to coincide with their next announcement  :P

...which maybe means they will finally announce a C40-8W, undecorated with all the LMS/Conrail features. if they do, they can increase the price also 20% which will be only $5.99 higher than a IM SD45-2 retail, but with a much nicer and crisper shell - unseen (stop bashing them SD45-2 now will ya... !?!)   ;)

They did a CN version in HO, I could use one or two... though I liked them better when they were LMS since they were actually common in the Toronto area. Not so much now that they're down on the IC.

I have 3 IM tunnel motors. They're sorta ok, but not at what they're charging for them. My problem is that CN leased most of CR's SD45-2's in 1997/98 and I have a number of shots of them... naturally I'd like to get a  few but I'm more than a little wary based on the quality of the TM's. Why can't Kato just do all North American models and be done with it?

And CN and CP had HATX SD45-2's on lease in the late 90's (ex ACL and CRR, IIRC). CP even destroyed one or two in a washout... I took a few pic's of their remains on flatcars.

What was this thread originally about  ???

All will be revealed in the Atlas Jan/Feb/Mar quarterly catalog. Let's go look at it. Wait! It's not out yet ...
