Really, they don't have to understand. I am actually the senior man on a lot of jobs now, which makes me the supervisor-a position that I really don't like since I still have to answer to the boss and any mistakes made by others is automatically my fault.
Of course I work alone a lot as well, so I can be semi-stealthy about it. All I have to worry about is the Mexican plumbers thinking I'm nuts
