The colors used put it in the Amtrak era, but pre-NJ Transit, so somewhere in the 1970's. The long distance trains were run by Amtrak, but PC and then CR operated the commuter schedules until about 1980. The commuting public probably still calls them the "Penn RR" trains!  :P

It's down in the tunnels connecting the subway with the station. There's a weird restaurant down there near it.

Naw, I heard that sign points down a very long, dark, damp, and dripping wet tunnel. Supposedly if you follow it long enough, and have enough batteries for your flashlight, you will eventually find the Precision Craft Models PRR M1a/M1b!!!

I've seen other signs like that in Penn Station - when you get OFF NJT trains and go up the first escalator, they are around in various places.

About 10 years ago, I noticed a billboard outside of Penn Station Baltimore that advertised the WM railway, BTW...
