Badger Model Flex Stinks!

I use this stuff all the time since the local shop carries it and it usually sprays without thinning, but today I opened up a new jar of "engine black" and it immediately smelled like some sort of sewer gas...P U  Wow such a strong smell from such a small bottle.

I sprayed some to test and it looked fine so I sprayed my model, now 2 hours later the model still has the same smell, but not as bad.

Just wondering if anyone else has found this smelly paint?

Are you sure the bottle read "engine black" and not "Pet Fart"?  ;D ;D ;D

I recall seeing a bottle so labelled in a tourist trap and wondered who  would buy such a thing?  ???

Good to hear I'm not the only one, but I've had 4-5 other jars of "engine black" with no smell.

Oh well.

I think the stuff is best as a wood stain instead of a paint . I hate the stuff . Now to find out that they are saving water by using skunk spray tickles me . Soured water paint is something that I have smelled in reopening a very old used can of house paint . Maybe its the air that was trapped inside , something like an inner tube .

It works well on Randy's Resin, and at the $0.25 a bottle I paid for it...

Waterbased paint can go rancid.  It's surprising though, ModelFlex usually dries up in the crappy plastic bottles before it goes rancid though.  I've had it happen to latex house paint more often... must be a fungus/bacteria thing.

Just paint some molten sulfur cars with it and you're good.
