I don't think any of the railroad manufacturers are that nefarious.

You underestimate how similar the British model train manufacturing scene is to a bucket of crabs relative to everywhere else.

Liliput is owned by Kader along with Bachmann, but Hornby has their own empire which includes Arnold. Thankfully the continental European N scale market is very healthy even with a lot of competition (how many manufacturers have offered SBB Re 420s? Nearly all of them by now)

I forgot that the relation is Hornby/Arnold and Bachmann/Lilliput. Just like with all the other companies out there - everybody is acquiring or merging with some other companies. Then of course there is Roco/Fleischmann and Marklin/Trix.
