There's definitely a lot to see in the area. The Pensacola Naval Air Museum is one of my all-time favorite places because the airplanes aren't roped off. So if I want to crawl under the ME262 and compare the rivets up close with the George nearby, I can do it. And the Air Force Armament Museum has the only SR71 that you can touch and crawl under (that I know of). Not too far from me, the USS Drum is the last unmodified WW2 submarine left, I think, and the USS Alabama is in excellent condition. Then there are all the Civil War forts and accompanying WW1-era coastal battery ruins to choose from.
