Digitrax DCS240+ oddity

On my  modular n scale Show layout I use a fairly new DCS240+,UR93, various throttles, 3 PSX and 2 PSXARs.
Last weekend, everything worked perfectly on the Saturday, as usual, but on Sunday I had a big problem.
The DCS240 would turn off track power instead of the PSXARs switching polarity. I tried various combinations of the PSXs, but to no avail. Track voltage was lower than usual, and even my INTERURBAN line which runs on a separate DCC module, was stopping short of the stations.
Luckily I had brought my old DCS100, and that worked perfectly.
On testing the system once I got home, everything worked fine again.
I’m sure that lower mains voltage was the cause. What do you think.
