Here is an old gas station begging to be modeled

Found it in Hooksett, NH. Looks to have been abandoned for decades.  Should be fairly easy to scratchbuild. Would make a nice roadside structure for a layout.

I'm surprised that there is no graffiti on it. It is probably too decrepit for taggers to bother with.

Honestly surprised that sign hasn’t been plucked.

Rigth, and it's a busy road too. Maybe that's the reason why it still remains (plus there are homes across the road from it).

And here I was thinking that it needed to have the sign backdated to the old, round, version!

Nice pics. Awesome sky.

Thanks!  That was an unexpected bonus. We had a sloppy snow/freezing rain/rain storm earlier that week, and the sky was still a bit turbulent.

Mistype, its actually one of the old Gulf ones with the Gulflex design.    Ugh...and it looks like the new owners have covered it all up. Its been a few years since I've been down that section of Rt 3.

Yeah, they murdered it! No way anybody can tell that this was ever an old Gulflex gas station.  Too bad.

Word to the wise...

If there's a gas station or other interesting structure from another era that you happen to fancy, take as many photos of it as you can, ASAP.

There was a gas station local to me, very cool art deco structure from whatever era produced art deco structures.  I was always thinking (every time I went past it on the way to my local Home Depot) that I should photograph it with the intent of building a model of if someday.

About a year ago, it was sold and quickly torn down to make way for a Auto Zone and it's accompanying large parking lot...  So that opportunity is now gone.

Falling victim to the "I'll get to it one day..." (again), don't put off taking those photos and measurements of such unusual oddities.
