A quick trip to central Virginia resulted in traveling some back roads, where we came across a station and caboose in Piney River. Later in the day we went to the restored Southern Ry depot in Amherst and happened upon the NKP heritage unit heading south.

Today's ramblings:  power for the Berkeley Springs local at Hancock,  West Virginia


And later, the local out of Hagerstown posed in some dramatic sunlight for me.


A nice juxtaposition of the 1957 elevated bypass and the original alignment by the station, now home to the Hagerstown PD.
