OK, finally found one of the old shots of these.... The Minitrix SD45

The 'proof' this is on a Trix chassis is the trucks.  Atlas/Mehano/Model Power/Whoever SD45 shell with wire handrails, new details, repainted, and I modified the fuel tank.  Never did get around to changing the truck sideframes.  This was a trailing unit in the MU set so I didn't close the pilot.

You can probably get a junker one of these for $20, they are a true POS on the original mechanisms.

Hi All!
I now have 2 shells that will fit the Trix ( with mods)> The N-Scale Bachmann 8-40C and 8-40CW bodies will fit if the cab area of the Trix shell is ground down to the same width as the remainder of the chassis. So does anyone have any bodies they would like to dispose of?

I had the ConCor version of that SD45.  It was so bad that I couldn't get it to pull its own weight.  Even after wiring it to a Minitrix F-unit the combination pulled less than the F alone.

Fortunately the BN in the 1970s had a LOT of Fs!  Unlike much of the US, F-units were modern prototype power in eastern Washington when I was getting started.
