N scale container bargains at DM-Toys

I know very little about containers, but they have bunch of 20' and 40' containers at almost 50% off.   I know some of TRW members use containers so I figured I would post the info here.

Continental N Scale (N Spur) is 1:160. Only the Japanese non Shinkansen is 1:150 to represent their narrow gauge rails.

These are not Japanese. They are DM-Toys' own house brand, and 1:160.  The dimensions are all listed in item descriptions.

And I believe Hornby UK, and other UK manufacturers models are probably 1:148.

76mm is 2.992 inches and 40ft in 1:160 is 3 inches so that confirms they are 1:160.

I wonder if NEM pin spacing is compatible with anything such as JTC and Atlas.

But these look like a good find.

I guess one could measure pin spacing in Atlas or JTC containers and compare to what is shown for these containers (I don't have any containers).

DM-Toys charges 20 Euro for shipping to USA (which IMO is quite reasonable), and the package unusually arrives in 2-3 days. They use DHL and UPS.  I have ordered items from them multiple times.

The item listings show the dimensions and pin spacinig:
40' Dimensions: 76x 15x 16 mm, pin spacing according to NEM 380 75x14mm
20' Dimensions: 38 x 15 x 16 mm, pin spacing according to NEM 380 36.5x14mm

Not sure how accurate those are.

I can confirm the dimensions and pin spacing for the 40' containers. They are accurate.

You're correct about the scale but Hornby doesn't partake in it. Arnold (owned by Hornby) only seems interested in continental N scale.

Well, there seem to be exceptions to that rule.  See upper right hand corner.  And yes, those models tower over 1:160 passenger cars.

Yes of course I had forgotten about that release, but that ship has certainly sailed. Hornby has no current presence in the 1:148 scale UK scene (and perhaps that's for the best).

And while the scale is bigger my British stuff still looks small compared to my North American stuff. It really emphasizes how small of a loading gauge UK railways have. You can really see it in photos of the Canadian built Class 66 diesels sitting next to NA stock.
