Yep. I've bought more MTL stuff recently than I had for YEARS.

I just wish they'd fix that one last "old schooler", the 50' exterior post boxcar that they do all sorts of cool schemes on.

But also, I kinda hope they don't. I'd likely need a new storage solution if they did.

Is there something different about the history of the C&NW hospital cars, or did they pull the fonts from poorly rendered museum paint jobs?  I can't seem to locate period photos of these two cars.

That model is a great match for the early (Plate B) prototypes, if you can match up the road names and numbers.

This article has a builders photo of the "door" side of one of the cars, and a newspaper clipping about the cars dated 1930.

Tom D.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Hey @MTLJoe , thanks for listening to those of us who wanted a clean set of those weathered 45' trailers.  Regarding the Conrail Trailvans, I see you gave all four road numbers in this release the proper Conrail Fruehauf built number series: CRZ 235000 to CRZ 235449.  Something else you could change is the placement of the Conrail / Wheels-on-Rails logo and the Trailvan markings to match those of the third trailer down in the weathered Conrail Trailvan release artwork, road number 235238.  That trailer is a Fruehauf built 45' x 102" trailer.  The lettering placement on this clean release is for 40' vans that were stretched to 45'.  Something that is missing in the artwork is the 45/102 that is at the top center of each side of these trailers (on closer inspection, that lettering is present on 235238).  And finally, on the blue square on the nose of the trailer that has the 45 in it, there should be a small 102 under it in the same blue square.  Thank you.

"For the "modern" era (Post 1965), this is no longer a periodic requirement and cars are reweighed when shopped/repaired to the point that the weight changes by >300lbs. "

That was still in the 1977 AAR interchange Manual.

Excellent, thanks Thomas.

@MTLJoe it looks like your art department used modern fonts from the Museum repaint on the C&NW "hospital" cars.  These should be standard Pullman fonts as you've done before.  Something to watch out for with restored rail equipment.  The larger capital letters were a giveaway.

I'm excited about the B&O PS-2.  I'm even more excited it's the correct later rib version and not a foobie channel-sided road number!

Really bummed about these announcements. Saw them Friday night after a 70 hour work week so I was kinda tired but I was stoked that they were going to do lightweight passenger cars and in a road name I needed!  Wasn’t until last night that I realized that they were z scale 😕

THere's even something for me this month: WP Feather Roller Freight car and possibly the SP cabooses (they might be a bit too weathered for the 1950's and the bar codes...). The balloon car is still one of the best foobies MT ever created!
