Some V&O Love

I wanted to share some photos of some recent V&O projects and realized I should probably write a quick article about them. So here it is:

But here's the photos you really want.

Has anyone else done some V&O tribute stuff?

what's not to love about the V&O? To me, it is the greatest model railroad ever designed, the G&D and F&SM are incredible works of art, but the V&O feels real.

Exactly. And Tony's book explains all of the reasons why. I highly recommend grabbing it if you have the chance.

I vaguely remember the CM&SF boxcar from your blog post, but darned if I can remember who issued it.

I have the Carstens V&O book by McClelland (the builder), from 1984.  Spent hours pouring over that book back in the day.

Does Koester's book add anything new?

Absolutely. It's more about how the V&O influenced the model railroad world.

Circus City has some good V&O decals for boxcars, locos, and covered hoppers too.  The V&O is one of my favorite model railroads and it's nice to see it live on on other model railroads.

My V&O memories go back a few years ...

Although I've never been interested in freelancing too much - this series remains the most influential for me in terms of how to view my model railroad.

I just have the Fox Valley Models Gevo units that Matt did a while back. I love the looks of them, I wish they produced a few more. I keep kicking around the idea of painting a few up but let’s be honest, time is precious right now and that’s about number 431 of things to do haha

Yep. Same here. But it took a while for the lessons of the V&O to sink in. ...

I have very fond memories of the V&O, and also the G&D.  That said, I'm not remembering what F&SM is.  Help?
