Modeling the BN in 1974, I have no apparent use for a C&O Pullman. However, I have an old N scale Rowa sleeper which can be made into a good model, if I can find a use for it. So, here's the question.
Did any of the C&O's "City of" 2600-series make it into Amtrak service, either purchased by Amtrak, or as leased cars? So far, I've found very little on these cars, and most of that is pre-Amtrak. I've found pictures of a few in Mexico, and others with new owners more recently, but nothing useful in the 1970s.
I did see ex-C&O SCL 11 DBR sleepers in Pasco in the early years of Amtrak.

The only one I've found a picture of in Amtrak paint (phase 1) is "City of Mount Hope".
No skirts, but still had it's corrugated stainless.
There's a photo on Flickr, but it seems you can't search it anymore without an account?

Incase you model early 1974.. here is what it would have looked like in B&O paint. (Attached is 7052)
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]
10-6 sleeping cars were purchased from the C&O and added to the B&O pool of these cars.
7050 ALLEGHENY
7051 CUYAHOGA
7052 SCHUYLKILL
7053 SHENANDOAH
Or you could do an SCL car.

The date is June 10, 1972. This is the bedroom hallway side of the car. The number in the car line number board reads “8580,” and that means that this car last operated on Amtrak's Champion. That would mean that this car has been transferred to trains 5 and 6 for the summer season and is making its first trip west. Interesting to note, this car and other former C&O eleven bedroom cars often appeared in tour-group-swollen summer California Zephyr consists in the 1960s. (photo by John H. Kuehl)

Thank you, everybody.
The Mount Vernon was one of the cars I saw in the Empire Builder, so it apparently ran on several of the western routes. Thank you for the picture!
And, I found some pictures of the ex-C&O 10-6s, sold to SCL, and in Amtrak paint, on Flickr. It might not be searchable, but
http://passcarphotos.rypn.org/
has links, and once into an album, it's possible to get to the home page for that album, or user. The Passenger Car Index has missing sections, but for those, the original site is available, with some work, on the Internet Archive:
http://archive.org/web/
. Unfortunately, most of the links THERE don't work, because it assumes that the linked page is also in the Archive. But the link can be edited to remove that portion, giving the actual photo site. A lot of work for a picture!
However, if all one wants is Amtrak photos from the 1970s, MBernero has a lot of them:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/mbernero/albums/72157660532470228
. Go to his user home page, and he has other albums that may be of use, or interest.
He has pictures of the SCL cars in Amtrak paint, and I will probably, eventually, paint mine for Amtrak 2802 "Halifax County". It has the advantage that the car name is entirely upper case (non-standard) and can be done with dry transfers.
