:ashat:  Nice weathering job!  Seriously, thanks for the interesting photo.  This starts my Thursday mornings in the right direction; keeps me focused on trains.

More Chicago from last week.

I'm so jealous of my friend who lives a few blocks from here. Except for the fact that I had to bail on waiting for something more interesting to show up because it was so damn cold.

Caught this Executive Unit bringing up the rear at Palmer Lake.  Looks like someone took exception to the blanking out of the BN nose logo.

One more... I went to New Mexico a couple weeks ago and railfanned the BNSF transcontinental.  Too many good pictures to pick from, but this one captures the action.

Okay, I lied, one more.  Caught a empty DODX flat car train getting shoved back to Fort Carson here in Springs.

The last of 369 DL500B 'World' Alcos in regular revenue service anywhere is former New South Wales Government Railways 4497 which has a regular running intermodal shuttles the 13km between Junee and Harefield in New South Wales, seen on such a duty on 3 October 2022.  The second unit is a former Danish MZ class, MZ1431, a number of which were exported to Australia around 15 years ago.
A new purpose built terminal is due to open in the next few weeks, which should eliminate the need for the shuttles and the need to retain 4497 which is already struggling mechanically.
Thankfully there are several preserved operational DL500Bs in New South Wales, which continue to see use on heritage tours and some commercial railtours.

Was there two weeks ago!  Did you ride the train?  We just didn't have the time.
