Modern hooded signals????

Other than a few dummy signals I have seen offered on Shapeways, is there any other source of modern hooded signals in N scale? I wish Atlas would make some in N like they do for the former BLMA HO ones.

Thanks and Happy New Year everyone!

I've seen a few of the Darth Vaders on Shapeways, but not in commercial production.  NJ International does make type D's, but sans hood.

i think on ebay you can get covers for single and dual leds with the top part 'covered'  .... for n scale you would probably use 3mm leds ...

3mm leds will be very overscale for N scale, if you're trying to achieve scale sized lights... It would work out to being a ~19" diameter light in scale.

We used to have some searchlight signals on our N club layout that had been made by filing the front of 3mm LEDs flat and attaching a circle of brass over the front with a smaller aperture opening to let the light through.   They were bi-color green-red LEDs and we didn't get yellow out of them. They've since been replaced.  It's not an idea that would work for 'vader' signals at all.
