What king of lighting are you looking under?  The Train-Worx cars look good to me while my Kato E8's lean slightly purple-ish.

That's pretty high color temp and more bluish than broad spectrum, which will bring out the green in things.  If you mixed in some lowr temp lamps it might improve things.

John Pitts, who is an IC fanatic and paint color matching maestro, once told me his IC mix for chocolate brown was Floquil Caboose Red and Engine Black.  It turned into a reddish brown that is probably "purplish" as you describe.  I wonder if that is actually correct to the prototype.

My handful of Illinois Central books match my Kato/Railsmith cars so that is my baseline.

The coupler height mismatch (as compared to Kato equipment) is what bothers me. Perhaps alternate trucks?

This gets me too.
So what kind (whose) trucks and wheelsets are under these trainworx cars now?
Maybe the coupler height isnt as bad, or can be addressed some other way…

Its disheartening to see so many manufacturers fail to utilize a quality truck/wheelset today.
It used to be common for manufacturers to acquire Micro Trains trucks/couplers, as MT was the Cadillac for an extended period… but now I would rather see the BLMA (atlas) trucks, most notably their wheelsets as mainstream in a similar way, instead of this melting pot of inferior attempts riding under what could otherwise be quality models.
But then it hurts to see Atlas has virtually scuttled these most valuable parts in their BLMA lineup… while the HO pipelines run at warp speed.
Sigh

Out of curiosity, was there ever a suggested radius for these cars to run on? I picked up two (not because they fit my layout, but they look neat), but they don't want to make it around my ~11.5 inch radius curves, as the wheels seem to hit the underside of the car in the curve.
