A few of the 4400s are still kicking around... I don't think they are long for this world tho.
I like them, but with no DB (no handle or selector switch even so the whole consist has no db), no Hot plate, no writing table and just generally being worn out. They are pretty rare leading outside the yard and  Their days are numbered!

   Pedro, that is a great sunrise photo!  With difficult lighting, showing the locomotive cab nose looking at the sun, requires a really good camera with someone who knows how to use it.

The composition is excellent too: with the green board against the orange sky (sadly not for your train), and the graceful lines of the crossover aimed directly towards the water tower and the sunrise.  Perfect.

Can someone explain what I am seeing with respect to the positioning of the train in this picture or where the photo was taken?  To me it looks like it is blocking both tracks.

The photo is, without a doubt, magnificent.

He's engineering on the left track with a red signal. You could title this.... "Waiting on the green..."

Gosh, thanks for the compliments on the photo, but I must cede any technical credit to the iPhone 13 pro max! It’s just a snapshot through the windshield without any adjustments. That was literally the very first photo I took with it, having just gotten it the day before.

We were long tied down there waiting for a van ride home. CP844 just west of the Rochelle diamond is a regular tie down spot for us. Because of the crossover we can leave low-priority trains tied down there for days at a time and work around them. This train I was on was a Sweetwater (MT) coal load destined for interchange with the CP via the BRC.  1x1x1 DP with all CP power.
