LOL! Good to know that relatively little masking tape was harmed while decorating this loco.  :D

It is possible (or IMO even likely) that a lot of the colorful decorations are printed vinyl stickers.

Sort of like decals for the prototype sized engines?  That's a bit of life imitating art. Maybe they should have let a model railroader design the graphics. None of us would have created a paint scheme so ugly for our freelanced railroad.

I would guess that they would just be large scotchlight decals... really no bigger then the flag they already put on their engines...

I know Via used vinyl decals for some of their advertising schemes... the Spiderman 2 decals stuck so good some wouldn't come off when the promotion was over... (edit: without taking the paint with them)

I don't know what they use for the nose emblem, but it's very hard to peel off. (Don't ask 🙄)

So the woke train is out touring UP's system and was supposed to head up to Portland and then to Ogden. Well they had to take a little detour from California due to a fire on the Cali-Oregon boarder that burned out a bridge.

https://www.statesmanjournal.com/story/news/2021/07/07/union-pacific-closes-siskiyou-line-until-lava-fire-damage-repaired/7896275002/

Supposedly UP is routing all effected traffic over Donner Pass because of another fire affecting the Winnemucca sub.

The engine looks a lot better in person and in photo's compared to the render's.

Has there been a thread on that fire here?  I've been wondering if I was missing something.

Not a Railwire thread, but there is a bit of an update here from UP.com:

https://www.up.com/aboutup/community/inside_track/lava-fire-7-12-2021.htm

And that's not the only fire affecting them:

And now the line from LA to SLC is out of service for a bit. Donner pass is going to be very busy.

Familiar with Lund. It's right in the middle of an alluvial wash, so no surprise. Too bad all that water wasn't a few hundred miles west where they could use it.

Not just Donner, but Tehachapi, too. Nonetheless, rerouting around the LA&SL washout will likely be via Sunset and ex-RI out of Tucumcari. Or, depending on the extent of the cleanup and repair, it may be more time-efficient to let the trains stack-up, with eastbounds in Vegas and Yermo, and westbounds in Ogden and Milford.

None of us would have created a paint scheme so ugly for our freelanced railroad.

I need to find some examples from the Freelance RRs Facebook group....
