The young man in the photo below can rattle off all the various modern diesel model designations from GE and EMD.  And I still struggle to differentiate between a GP38 and a GP40...  :facepalm:




An hour later and some 20 miles to the north, the sun was hidden but I still snapped a reflection in the puddle.
