Went through my entire collection of Model Railroader and threw most of it in the recycling bin.

I did that six years ago, saving only a few with articles that I still needed as references.

Cheerio!

put em on Craigs list in the free section . I got rid of all of my unwanted mags that way , A father brought his son to pick them up .

Great idea -- but I'm not comfortable with random Craig's list folks showing up at the house -- I think I will just drag them to Timonium next month and stick them on a table ..

Finished up a few freight car projects this week; first one is a rusted D&H Pullman-Standard 50-footer.  I'm no Tom Mann, but definitely drew inspiration from his rust and scrape techniques:

While waiting for various layers to dry on the D&H car, I moved these "throwback" Fine N Scale X31s from half-done to done-done.  Badger paint with Microscale decals:

That's why you agree to meet them at a public location. The police station is a good option.

I'd raise a ruckus if he were doing almost anything else with it.

But slapping some worms in it? I'm down to clown.

😄

I managed to get distracted from the SD45 and instead fixed one of my two other PC locomotives.  U25b 2504 was missing pickup brushes from one truck, and the brass axle bearings were worn through on top.  I took the truck sideframes off and cleaned everything up.  Found the replacement Aristocraft brushes were too tight a fit, so I drilled out the bearings all except the very end facing the wheels, so the brushes can’t get pushed out.

I put everything back together with a little conductive track grease to help close gaps between pickup components.  I also added a TCS KA-4 keep-alive to the older TCS WOW501 sound decoder.  This took 2504 from an unreliable locomotive requiring the cleanest of track to a workhorse who will remain lit up and idling for twelve seconds if I lift her off the track with the motors stopped.

And then, I had to take photos and a short video.  Enjoy!

Amato1969, that D&H boxcar really looks good!
