Lighten up, Francis.

Well, I took the soft route, and asked (three times) to please watch the video.   He refuses to do that, and then doubles down on arguing his interpretation of MY NOTES and becomes accusatory.    F*** that.

I was just coming back to take a look at the videos that I didn’t have time to watch earlier.  Did you have to take them down?

The videos are now in a new thread.   Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ah, the Railwire definition of "No good deed goes unpunished."

I feel good for the Z guys, getting some viable product.  Not being a Z guy, I'm wondering at what place is the market, given its limited market share?  Specifically, with low sales volumes, are they about where N was in 2000, or HO in 1990, i.e., a lot of foobies that are close enough to use for many different, but not strictly prototypical trains?  Or are they solidly on the pure proto bandwagon?

The takeaway here for you, Jeff, (and everyone, really) is I highly recommend you watch the videos...they get a little into how the cake is baked which I know is something you and I are both interested in.

Hey guys... wait about 24 hours. We are making the official announcements later today. I can tell you this is ALL new tooling, not repurposed cars. I can also tell you AZL spent years researching this train. They are working to present the 1953 summer consist. I have photos of the cars in boxes, but I also plan to take photos of individual cars, but this won't happen until after we make the release announcement.

Trust me.. this is a major release for AZL and Z scale. :)

E7s with dynamic option?   EMD did not have dynamics on E7s  so I guess this is a typo...
Charlie Vlk
Not to worry....the E7 samples don’t have dynamics (if EMD had to design a new E8 model it would take a real foobie to make a model...the options probably reference headlights and pilots as the choices ...I can’t think of non-steam generator E7s....
The Super Chief is Santa Fe all the way.....not a rebranded CZ!!
Really nice stuff!!!

Agreed...very nice stuff.  And thank you for the information.

For the record, here is the quote from Hans in the video... "[E-7's] They're done.  They're on their way from the manufacturer.
What's the difference between an E-7 and an E-8?  Well, really not a lot.  On the side you have different windows, and on the roof you will have a little bit different configurations.  We will offer with or without dynamic brakes, a few differences with airhorns.  We will have three different pilots.  We're gonna have the  E-7 passenger, and the F-unit/E-unit freight pilot.  We're also going to put the E-8 passenger pilot on some of the locomotives because they actually used those."

I'm guessing the dynamic brakes comment was a copy point from another locomotive that did not get edited out for the video.  I just wanted to clarify that it was their typo, not mine.   I just did not have the frame of reference to know that the information in the video was incorrect.
