Moffatt In Z

I have been wanting to showcase Z scale more here on this forum. When I saw this photo, I knew I had to share it. The layout is AZL's display layout for use in Europe. It is owned by Hans Riddervold, one of the owners of AZL. It was created by master modeler Karl Sinn. Hans scratch built the Moffatt East Portal entrance. Karl designed the layout for constant running for shows. The reverse side of this scene is the scene Caliente.

The AC12 is a brass release from AZL. All other locos and rolling stock are injections molded samples from AZL including the UP ES44AC and SD70Aces

The photos are by Svein-Martin Hold. See more images from Svein-Martin here: http://www.platelayer.com/bilder/zweekend2018web/#next

I’ve commented that one of the things I like about n-scale is the ability for the scenery to dwarf the trains.

Well... damn!

Rob, you somehow got the builder‘s name wrong. This layout doesn’t come from Dirk, it was built by Karl Sinn (spur-z-atelier.de)

A couple more shots from this awesome layout/modules (these are not mine, credit to the modelers) Just mind blown at how great this looks.

Beautiful; would like to know what they used for the coniferous trees.
