Signalmaintainer:  Quite likely.  As far as I know, all of the Northwest roads used route signaling.

This makes me happy we use CROR signals, the names make so much more sense...  :D

I know some railfans that don't really "get" what exactly "Clear to Stop" means ("How can you be 'clear' to stop?") but they don't really realize the whole naming convention/pattern either...

I rather like the convention, it's quite logical when you know what it is.

I rather like the convention, it's quite logical when you know what it is.

Once you realize that the signal is telling you what to be prepared for at the NEXT signal, your mindset starts to shift.  It's less about what to do at this signal, as it is about what to do in the next block to prepare for the next signal.
