Time for a new Screen

  Started both printers last night before I went to bed, and woke up to this on one of them











 

 I bought a "Sharp" brand replacement off of Amazon and will be here tomorrow.

Did you do the light up test? I had a failed print like that one time and it was a spot on the FEP.

It was a tiny hard spot on the FEP. Couldn't scrap it off and had to replace the FEP. Next print was fine.

Not saying it is what's wrong, but yeah check the light.

I had a similar print failure which was caused by too much surface area being printed at once and not enough time between layer retraction to let the resin pool refill the area.

 Did the light test and didn't see anything wrong, so I took the vat out and cleaned the screen real good. Put the extra vat that I have in with new FEP and did another print and it came out fine. Cleaned up the vat that I took out and didn't see anything on the FEP. So who know what happened, but it's OK now and I'll have a spare screen.

 Yesterday, when I did the print and is was OK. Well I was doing a test print of 2 baggage doors and 4 windows, and when I set the on the build plate, I though I had part of it where I thought the hole was. I did it 180 instead and wasn't close to the problem area was. I just finished a print and the hole is still there, so I'll be putting the new screen in tomorrow, afterall.

 New screen is in and it working great again.
Now to see if there is any noticeable differences between the original and the "Sharp" branded screens.

  Got out of bed to some failed prints today caused by the screen going bad again. Just ordered another new one and it'll be here Monday.
I bet I didn't get more than 50 prints from the replacement screen.

You can barely see the 3 hole where the screen failed

Supposedly there is a Photon Mono coming out that uses a B&W screen that lasts much longer.
