Back in active service as of this week is Southern Shorthaul Railroad's CLP12 seen last week in Cootmundra, New South Wales - image taken by SSR driver and maintainer Kev Schultz and posted with permission. After quite a few years stored outside in the elements, former Commonwealth Railways, Australian National, Genesee & Wyoming Australia, and Aurizon, CLP12 is now with its fifth owner, Southern Shorthaul Railroad. Its coat of white primer has seen it nicknamed "Casper' and an appropriate decal has been been added to the side. It still needs a number of cab features re-installed before it can lead, and it will eventually be repainted in SSR house colours.
5644 looks really clean!
I've always been curious why EMD went with angled carbodies behind rounded faces. Do you happen to know?

Those horns look bad-a$$ on the nose - is that the factory/original location? Frank
