Hapag-Lloyd container question

Does anyone know when Hapag-Lloyd adopted their current logo?  Their earliest containers just had the name, in all upper-case letters, without a logo.  Pictures of those containers are very rare, at least online, so their current logo must have come into use fairly early.

Possibly after your era?

Here's an image that claims to be early 1980s, and there's not a single newer style large star in sight: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Regina_M%C3%A6rsk_at_sea_(1983)_(7312762996).jpg

As you note, they started using their name first (some variants in individual boxes), then the star was added by 1975, also in a small box. I'm not sure when they switch to the large star, but it was present by very late 1980s.

Unfortunately, those are Maersk containers, not Hapag-Lloyd.  Here's the old H-L scheme:

and the new one:

I didn't realize Maersk was in business in the late 60s.  That's another one I can add to my potential purchases, so thank you for the information on it!

Side note, I don't see any Maersk containers in this source, mostly around 1979 time frame. http://www.robx1.net/index/index.htm

Sometime after I last had a front porch train watching spot (1977).

This is from 1976. I used to see these frequently.

Well, that's a colossal reading failure on my part. Both Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd have been off my radar, as I've not seen much evidence of their presence for my locale and date. H-L was formed in 1968 and I've seen at least one of the old scheme in a mid 1970s image. Beyond that... this might help, 1978: https://flickr.com/photos/saltacornu/1439102879/in/photostream/

The old scheme lasted well into the 70s, if not longer, so I'm not worried about having them.  My question was whether, in 1974, I could use the newer logo.  Since Mark says (Thank you!) that he hadn't yet seen the new logo in 1977, I will assume that it doesn't belong on my railroad.

I notice that, even in 1978, there were a lot more old than new scheme containers.

Thank you, everybody.
