Brought an old Kato C30-7 up to snuff for next week. First time successfully performing a non drop in decoder install. Then took the time and shamelessly copied Ed K's detailing job sans signal box and antenna since I had an SD70 I'm not using at the moment.

I finally have some acceptable fluting on the B15’s connecting rods.


I also made a nose for an Alco S5, to fit the Bachmann S4. Needs a couple of revisions, but a good start.

Finished prototyping a working weigh scale for my coal trains.  It works, but I'm not very happy with the accuracy.  Next step is to get it off the breadboard and permanent, then install somewhere on the layout.

That’s pretty incredible. As respects the accuracy... are you concerned the imaginary customer isn’t going to be billed correctly or that you’ll get busted by the imaginary state weights & measures department?

No marry that up with a corrugated metal building over the track, add a couple of cameras, andy you have a CSX car inspection shed

Yep.  I don't want to have to arrest myself for fraud or pay myself for coal not delivered.

Its been a while since I've posted anything, but I have been stalking the site for a while keeping up with everyones progress.  I got the bug to try 1/48 plastic military aircraft again about a year or so ago and put all my spare time into it.  Hadn't done aircraft kits since I was a kid so really enjoyed getting back into it for a bit.  Now that I've scratched that itch its time for me to get back into model rail roading.  Before I show what I've completed this week, I've added a few photos of some completed aircraft models in case anyone was interested in looking.

Excellent modeling all around. I really like the simplicity of your model railroad: just enough there to set the place and time.The aircraft - holy cow! Tom cats and church steeples. Quite the range.

I was testing the addition of a unit sand train to ops. It worked better than I thought. Just like the real crews, we had to plan around the big block of cars.
