Scale Model Supplies in St. Paul

Please, no comments or opinions on the news events.

One of the best local hobby shops remaining is Scale Model Supplies. I believe it’s in the Midway Neighborhood. Near I-94 and right next to the light rail almost smack inbetween Minneapolis and St. Paul. I’ve seen the retail area near the shop, Target etc, on the news and it was hit hard. Any word on the train shop?

According to comments on their FB page, the O'Reilly's next door was looted and set on fire (5/29/2020)  Another comment from SMS says "staying away, hoping the store survives."

Thanks and appreciate the quick reply. I’m not on Facebook so I didn’t see that. I saw the O’Reillys and I was worried that it was the one next to the train shop. Hope the worst is over. That’s a great little shop. Huge selection of N scale, including a lot of older, hard to find stuff.

I'm a lot more worried about my son, daughter-in-law, and grandkids up there with all those evil thugs around.

I was just there this morning. The building is boarded up and there are steel doors in place instead of the glass doors. I can only hope that they put those up prior to the destruction but I have a hunch they were not.

Scale Models is just some doors at street level in the corner of a building the store is actually in the basement.  I don't think it would be much of a target for a public looting or destruction.  There's also a church next door which could help some.

It's just these two doors.

At 10 am this morning the owner of Scale advised a number of local modelers the shop was currently find and that it will not re-open until the race riots are terminated.   Bruce is top notch people, I hope the thugs involved in this nothing to do with Floyd riot spare the store.

There is only one correct way to go and that is to condemn despicable mobs as they exist in this society. Why the fear of doing so?
